The Gladstone Police Department on Thursday arrested a drunken driver after he caused three traffic accidents that damaged six vehicles and sent one person to the hospital, the spree finally ending with the man running into a parked trailer.
Tony Lee Ray, 31, of Gladstone, was charged with felony hit-and-run with a vehicle that included an injury, a DUII, reckless driving, third-degree theft, and five counts of hit-and-run involving property. He is being held at Clackamas County Jail on $68,734 bail.
Gladstone police heard a call come in from the sheriff’s office about a road rage incident involving a pickup truck registered in Gladstone.
Police were then dispatched to a crash at 82nd Drive and I-205. Shortly after the first accident there was another at Oatfield Road and 82nd Drive. The police, having looked up the vehicle’s registration, realized the driver was heading to his home on Christen Court, and went there to head him off.
They arrived as Ray was exiting his vehicle, which he had crashed into a parked trailer, and arrested him.
The woman injured was treated and released from the hospital.
The Oregon City Police Department and the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.
