Police arrested a Milwaukie High School teacher Friday on charges that he sexually abused three students.
Hector Manuel Osuna-Bonilla, 58, was arrested and charged with six counts of third-degree sex abuse and another charge of attempted sex abuse. School officials told police they received reports of possible abuse regarding Osuna-Bonilla, and immediately put him on leave as an investigation began.
According to police, Osuna-Bonilla did not use force on any of his victims, but engaged in sexual activity with students who were younger than the legal age of consent. The incidents took place over a one-year time period. Osuna-Bonilla was hired in August 2008. He is being held on $15,000 bail.
District officials said the incidents allegedly took place at Milwaukie High School.
They also said Osuna-Bonilla had worked for Portland Community College and Portland Public Schools before they hired him a year and a half ago.
The arrest comes on the heels of another sex abuse incident involving a North Clackamas School District teacher. In July 2009, Christopher John Klitgord pleaded guilty to sexual abuse charges for having a relationship with a 16-year-old student.
