West Linn High is in search of relatives of members of its 1926 and 1927 football teams

WEST LINN – West Linn High School is looking for relatives of athletes that played on the school’s football teams in 1926 and 1927.

Those two teams went undefeated in a time when state championships were not held, and West Linn plans to induct both teams into its Athletic Hall Of Fame at a banquet scheduled for Willamette Valley Country Club on Oct. 30.

Team members on those teams included: Robert Ellis, Claude Harris, Sam Hodes, Alva Cranor, Jimmie Brandt, Wayne Vedder, Kip Morarity, Bill Schultze, Ralph LaLone, Arthur Hagan, Alvin Lind, Leonard Michels, Orville Charles, Sam Nixon, Vyron Decker, Tidder Forsythe, Albert Cranor, Monty Montgomery, Dave Harkleroad, Lenord Rands, and Mr. Dunmire.

West Linn athletic director Rob Holstrom is asking any relatives or anyone who has information about the two teams to contact the West Linn athletic office at 503-673-7808 or at scheidh@wlwv.k12.or.us.

The 1998 and 1999 state championship volleyball teams will also be inducted, along with the following individuals: Bob Adrian (1949), Kay Granquist Henderson (1953), Greg Mitchell (1965), Doug Fiala (1965), Arnie Bagley (1979) Cynthia Holton-Macom (1987), Catherine Johnston (1990), Joe Donnerberg (1993), Andrew Checketts (1994) and Dave Sanville (head wrestling coach 1988-2001).

Adrian went on to teach in the North Clackamas School District, where he was principal at McLoughlin Junior High and at Milwaukie High School, before retiring in 1989.
