SAN DIEGO – Oregon City High roundballers held their own in the San Diego Classic Girls Basketball Tournament, which concluded here Sunday.
The Pioneers went 4-2 and finished sixth in the 3A bracket of the tournament, which featured some of the top teams in the nation.
Oregon City lost to 2001 national champion Narbonne of Los Angeles 48-45 in their final game of the tournament. Montana Walters led Oregon City with 15 points; Johanna Paine had 14 points and nine rebounds.
Ashleigh Anderson was named Oregon City’s MVP for the weekend, averaging 13 points and five rebounds. Montana Walters averaged eight assists for the tournament.
