Nagel scored on a 14-yard run and Brian Swain scored on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter to put the Indians away.
“Our offensive line is playing better,” said Fanger. “We still have a ways to go, but they’re starting to play better as a unit.”
Fanger praised sophomore linebacker Ian Keeney for his efforts on defense.
“Ian was flying around and making good things happen,” Fanger said. “He was around the football all night.”
With the win, the Falcons improved to 3-0 on the season.
Things don’t get any easier this Friday, when the Falcons entertain Cascade in a 7 p.m. homecoming game at the Alder Creek Middle School stadium. Cascade enters the game unbeaten in four games and ranked fourth in the state.
“They’re 4-0; they’re averaging around 50 points a game and giving up only six or seven,” said Fanger. “They have some weapons. They’ve got a running back, R.J. Williams, who scored four touchdowns against Elmira a couple of weeks ago. We’ve got our work cut out for us. But if we can match their offense and make some key defensive stops, we’ll have a chance.”
